Makeup Photoshoot/Transformation

Went to visit my makeup artist buddy Ruth yesterday! Just for memories' sake, Ruth was the person who did my gorgeous makeup for my senior prom way back in 2010. And she did an amazing job!

Funny how Ruth and I met. She was a friend of Bryan and although I've met her months before prom, somehow we never clicked until the day she did my makeup. I guess my crazy love (though not as crazy as hers) is what us bonded. Since then, we've become makeup buddies/church buddies. But since I moved out of Pasadena, I haven't had any makeup sessions with her and she was super duper excited to use me as her Asian model/project for her portfolio.

I normally would not like to put up pictures of my naked face on a public domain. In fact, few years ago I always found a need to retouch my photos before posting. But screw it, I don't wear makeup out most of the time anyway and I don't see myself going ballistic and screaming at others who see me to "STOP LOOKING AT MY FACE. AHHH! HORRENDOUS! LOOK AT ME FROM ONLY THIS ANGLE!" *Strikes a sexy pose* So, no doubt I find it absurd that we try to hide who we are behind a computer screen. Perhaps it's also due to my increased self-esteem that I no longer care as much what I look like. Even if I look like crap, I know I'm better than some people...*ahem* previous housemates *ahem*

I mean, I get the fact that we all want to look our best online. But sometimes the length that girls go through these days are crazy...either that or I'm getting old.

PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE FOLLOWING PICTURE!

Look at that face. Pimples, untamed eyebrows and crooked smile. And poor Ruth have to make this face look good? *crosses finger*

So that's my BEFORE picture. Ruth was saying how most of her clients are reluctant to put up before pics and it upsets her slightly because without the before pics she can't really show other clients her skills. So I gave her rights to put up a bare-faced pic of me online as a portfolio reference for future clients. Now that I take a second look at it, what was I thinking? So ugly lar. Look like a man summore...sigh.

Yes, yes, I hope this brings your self-esteem up otherwise this picture would simply go to waste. LoL. But who cares because behold the transformation!

AFTER PICTURES:

Would you look at that flawless skin right there. Is Ruth amazing or amazing? Ho ho ho! So much for your increased self-esteem...okay just kidding.Yes, I "extra-larged" this picture cuz I happen to think it's pretty. Especially if you compare it to the first pic. You scrolled up didn't you? Yes, I also intentionally shrunk the before picture cuz it's uglier. No need to see those acne scars in HD. Problem? :P

We opted for a bright colored/sunset eyeshadow because it's summertime and I haven't played with colors in like forever. I think it turned out really nice!

MORE PICTURES:

The finished looked with eyes opened.

Another closed eyed pic to show the eyeshadow colors.

Some candid pictures that I love most out of all the shots:

I just think it's so AMAZING what makeup can do for you. I mean, remember this pic?
Super extra small size this time to hide imperfections especially since the other pics are too pretty and too much of a contrast that the ugly scale of this pic immediately bumped up 5 levels.

Then Ruth made me pose all day and I feel like an idiot being so unnatural. Nonetheless, MOAR pictures!

A lot of looking down pics because Ruth wanted to show the colors.

And then some silly photos.

Mata Julin~ (dunno how to spell)

I really LOVE those shoes! Can't believe that even though Ruth is so much shorter than I am we are the same size. Too bad I look like a freak when I wear those shoes because I become too tall. And can you believe those shoes only cost 5 bucks?!

I really need to step up my game in the thrifting department. How do all these people get such crazy good deals?

Anyway, I shall end this post with this picture that I think is super awesome but somehow nobody seem to think so on Facebook because the number of likes for my profile pic is way higher than this. Don't understand why though...is it not good?

Well, I think it is so yeah here it goes....

Oh, and if you're curious to know how my eyes looked like it got bigger and more opened, it's eyetape. Ancient Chinese beauty secret. This product is so awesome for monolids and I think everyone should go give it a try!

As you can see, makeup is a wonderful thing! Its ability to cover up blemishes and imperfections. That's why you always hear the saying that all guys should minus at 45% pretty points from what they see. How comforting to know that girls can be so fake, no? :D

Ruth is an awesome makeup artist and I just wanted to give all hair, makeup, and photo credits to her.

Okay, toodles!
