Recipe Websites that I'm Currently Obsessing Over

I'm pretty sure everyone knows I love cooking (and eating) given the amount of food pictures I've uploaded on Facebook. Since there really isn't very many good restaurants in Davis, I'm always on the quest of finding new recipes that I can easily whip up at at home (and for a fraction of the cost of eating out!). Reading manga on food doesn't help in calming down my cravings for all kinds of ethnic foods that I absolutely cannot find in this tiny college town. Shokugeki no Soma, I'm looking at you.

I'm so happy that there are passionate cooks out there writing awesome food websites/blog to satisfy my random cravings! I used to be an avid Foodnetwork stalker/browser, but they are really lackluster in the Asian food department. And so, if you're interested in where I'm getting my recipes here are few:

Just One Cookbook - This site is amazing if you crave Japanese food beyond the typical sushi and bento dishes they serve at Japanese restaurants. Almost everything I've read in mangas or watched in animes are on the website! Her website is so nicely organized and the food pictures are so gorgeous that I find myself drooling all the time whenever I'm scrolling through the page.

Rasa Malaysia - I'm quite sure this website is like the #1 Asian food blog/website out there, and as a Malaysian, I approve! I really like her Char Kuey Teow, Sweet and Sour Pork, Stir fried veggies etc recipe, to name a few. She also features a bunch of other ethnic food that is not limited to Malaysian cuisine, and they are not bad. I can't vouch for how authentic they are since I've wouldn't know what they're supposed to taste like, but from what's I've tasted at American restaurants, they're pretty close! So if you have an Americanized palette for Vietnamese, Thai, or other ethnic foods, I'd give it a try. As for the Malaysian ones, I think they are pretty darn good!

Maangchi - For all things Korean, this lady is the bomb. Love her because she makes video tutorials on YouTube for her recipes. Very easy to follow and very light-hearted lady. If you're looking for something healthy, you'd probably not like her very much lol. She is all about deliciousness.

Fifteen Spatulas - This lady's desserts are so creative and look so yummy it will make you wanna skip the main course. She has other foods on her blog too, but her desserts are so pretty and to die for. Very unhealthy obviously so bake and eat at your own risk lol. I have yet to try all the stuff besides easy ones like ice cream because they seem too sugary and high and calories that I cannot bring myself to make them when there's only me and John to eat it all. Maybe when I visit my family in the summertime I could try a few out?

Anyway, that's pretty much it. I'm sure there are many similar recipes for Asian food from food.com or foodnetwork.com and such, but these bloggers have a certain consistency to their food, and are actually Asian, which I like!
