Do not be discouraged when your plans go "awry"

"We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9 NLT)"

This has brought light unto the many recent experiences I've been going through. I've made so many meticulous plans which I was so sure would lead to success if I followed the steps I've set out for myself, but I've found countless of "obstacles" getting into the way of my step-by-step process and have grown so frustrated at the interruptions, at some point I was even questioning God like, "Why? Do you not see the struggles I'm facing that are hindering me from reaching my plans? Hurry up and make me them go away!" And then I saw this verse. The Lord knows my plans, but he has the right to dictate what steps I should take to get there.

I know it sounds so unfair at first. What's the point of even making plans and then having them changed? But I was wrong. Looking back, although the Lord has "whacked up" my plans and timeline and pretty much everything that seem more logical to me, he has NEVER lead me away from my goals. In the end, everything have always worked out just as I have hoped for if not better, albeit from a different route, time frame, and journey. So if you are going through some plans in your life like saving up for a mission trip or feel like you're doing something for God yet the path seems to be diverging elsewhere, don't fret and do not be discouraged thinking that you'll never end up where you want to be. The Lord knows, he is simply guiding your steps. He knows you better than you, he knows whether or not the steps you've laid out so logically based on other people's experiences or advice suits you well or not. And sometimes, even though your plan seem perfectly sound and dandy, he will take you on a different route to show you precious and beautiful miracles you'd never otherwise experience on a day to day methodical way of living. Continue to trust him, and continue to plan and let him lead you in his own way to your dreams.

God bless!
