Official Letter of Admission
It's official! The letter has finally come:
I suppose you could say I expected it to tell me I've been admitted, since many of the faculty and staff from the program told me that I'm basically in because they've already vouched for me, but the ultimate decision was not official until I receive a letter from Graduate Studies. I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch, so I didn't wanna share this news with the general public (by which I mean my acquaintances) until it was confirmed. Don't want siaw li mah.
But just my luck, the tuition for Fall 2016 just increased from 13K to 17K. Where the heck am I supposed to find the 4K difference? Not that I had the 13K to begin with.
Also, I just forked out $225 for the actuarial exam. Omg, SO EXPENSIVE. How do people manage to get by? John's sister recently relayed to us that earning an income of $150-200K has now been categorized as lower-middle class in the Bay Area. How crazy is that? What is wrong with the economy these days....there can't be THAT many people earning over $300K in Silicon Valley, so who's hiking up all the prices that make even the top 10% feel the pressure? Aren't we still in a recession?
I don't know if I could ever deal with that kind of hectic lifestyle. I wonder what will happen 5 years from now. Would I move out of state or would I stay? So many decisions.
UPDATE: I just received news that John has a new job offer! Two good news in a matter of 24 hours? And it's not April's Fool either! Ahhh~! Excited! o((*^▽^*))o
